How to make a Spiral Table Arch

My Mom used to be a balloon decorator when I was a little girl. I remember her making gorgeous spiral arches for weddings and retirement parties.

...So naturally when I decided to go into balloon decorating, the first thing I tried was a Spiral Table Arch.

When I called my Mom all the way in Southern California to tell her what I was going to attempt...she said, "Try doing one color first, and then trying the spiral tequnique, its easier!"

I am here to tell you today, that You Can start off with the spiral tequnique...
Materials: Table Arch kit (buy online or any party supply store)
12' inch latex balloons 2 colors
A Table
Air Blower (you didn't think you were going to blow them up yourself did you?)
Step One: Connect balloon Table Arch Kit to the Table (follow the directions on the kit)
Step Two: Once Table arch is assembled, you will need 4 balloons, 2 of each color to start
The first row of you Quad. (A Quad is a term used in balloon decorating for
describing 4 balloons tied together).
Step Three: blow up the 4 balloons (2 of each color) that you have selected. Twist the 2
balloons of the same color together to form a bow like shape. Do the same with
the other 2 of the same color.
Step Four: to make a quad connect the two bow like structures together by joining them and
twisting them in the middle. (If your quad is not staying together don't panic, just
reenforce them by twisting multiple times)
Step Five: Now it is time to assemble the quad to your table arch poles. make sure your quad is twisted in a way that the colors are next to the opposite colr on both sides.
Fit the pole in between on side of your quad, and then twist until
the 2 opposite colors are on the same side.
Step Six: you will repeat steps 1 through 5. but when you add your quad to
your arch you will twist it in a way that the colors start to slant. you will
Repeat this slanting motion going counterclockwise until you have
completely covered the poles in balloons.
Tips: Always remember to keep pushing your balloons down in the center when they are
on the pole for a tight crisp look.
If your arch is not spiraling start from the bottom and retwist to get the desired look
Be Patient...this can be very time consuming, but the look is much better than a single
color Arch
Have fun!!!!!
